TRIGGER POINT DRY NEEDLING IN MONTE VISTA AND NEWLANDS
The Trigger Point Dry needling, also known as Intramuscular Manual Therapy, is another dynamic tool that our therapists employ. The treatment consists of using a “dry” acupuncture needle (no drugs are used) to deactivate trigger points in your muscle, hence improving muscular performance.
Dry needling is frequently used in conjunction with other physical therapy exercises and treatments to restore normal muscle function and subsequently to create muscle memory so that the muscle functions normally after treatment.
Does Triger Point and Dry Needling Hurt?
Does Trigger Point and Dry Needling Therapy have any side effects?
A Therapist will introduce a small, sterilized needle into the skin during your dry needling therapy to close down your muscular trigger points. The length of the needle will be determined by the area of your body being dry needled. Most people experience little or no discomfort while the needle is placed. Typically, the needles are used once per muscle and then discarded.
The entire treatment can be completed in as little as 5 minutes. Patients often enjoy pain alleviation that lasts from a few hours to several weeks . While the majority of dry needling side effects are minimal, patients may experience:
Bruising at the location of dry needling
Soreness that normally goes away the next day.
